The coloured or black-and-white microfilm is an archival medium that has been used and accepted in this sector for decades. Microfilms are economic, easy to store and they cannot be falsified. However, it takes some time to access them and they are not suitable for genuine digital data.
Gubler Laboratory Ltd. applies many different technologies, but our RGB colour laser is the world’s leading technology in terms of quality, efficiency and product variations. Hence we can satisfy or exceed the currently valid directives of the Swiss Federal Government concerning the preservation of cultural property.
Images-on-film is suitable for the preservation of text or image information. For genuine digital data such as PDF/A+, e-mails or back-ups of ECM systems we recommend bits-on-film.
