With Monolith™ bits-on-film we can offer you a unique application for digital preservation:
- Cost-efficient: we can inform you about the exact expenses for the preservation of your digital data in the next 100 years – a unique transparency in the digital world.
Bits-on-film is based on an OpenSource barcode whose pixels are recorded on a long-term stable optical medium. This barcode can then be read and decoded by means of conventional scanners.
- Bits-on-film can be used as a back-up archive for records or picture collections: the visual characteristic of microfilm allows hybrid solutions as well.
- We also provide interfaces where you can choose data directly from repositories or eArchives and arrange their preservation via bits-on-film.
